We grow several kinds of beans every year and runner beans is one of them. Runner beans are vine beans which have vivid orange red colour flowers with bright green stems. The flowers beautifully stand out in our garden. After flowering, they produce plenty of pods which are thick and long. We love eating them after boiling as well as enjoying the uplifting looking flowers.
We always end up growing more beans than we can eat, so we always have some leftover beans to plant next year. However, it was funny that we couldn’t find our leftover runner beans to sow this year.
A few weeks after I sowed other types of beans, my boyfriend found some dried pods of runner beans on the table in the garage. There were only a few, but I still could take 11 beans from them, so I sowed them all.
